The 318-room Grand Waldo is now officially the first resort on the Cotai Strip, after its Grand Opening ceremony which took place on September 29, the day before the October Golden Week holidays.

At the opening, Francis Lui, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“Galaxy”) Deputy Chairman said of the new resort: “Grand Waldo Casino is also Galaxy’s fourth City Club in Macau, and its diversified family entertainment and leisure facilities mark a new milestone in Galaxy’s ongoing business expansion into Macau’s tourism and entertainment industry.”

Emphasizing that this resort is dedicated to the whole family, Aaron Yeung, Chairman of Grand Waldo Group said: “Grand Waldo Casino & Grand Waldo Hotel is equipped with state-of-the art- facilities serving the needs of all family members, thus making our resort the largest and most popular destination for families in Macau.”

Rooms range in size from 350 sq ft to 2,200 sq ft with satellite TV, 24-hour room service, and free internet access. The Grand Waldo Spa has adjoining rooms and family suites featuring a sauna room, gym room, putting green and driving range, karaoke, children’s playground plus a ‘mini Hollywood-style’ cinema and gaming area.

The Galaxy Group has three more city clubs: Waldo Casino, Rio Casino and President Casino. The Waldo Casino was first to open right after the Sands Macau in July 2004 with 161 rooms and 63 gaming tables, and the Rio Casino opened in February this year with 449 rooms and 90 gaming tables. The President Casino opened in April this year with 212 rooms and 75 gaming tables.

On October 19, the 38-story, 500-room StarWorld Hotel will open across the street from the President Casino on the Macau peninsula with 290 gaming tables. Designed by Rocco Yim, the architect for 2IFC, the StarWorld will be the first Galaxy-built, owned and operated casino hotel resort.
