Guangdong will invest 48.5 billion yuan in the province's infrastructure -- 33 billion yuan on public roads and 14.7 billion yuan on harbors and ship channels, Xinhuanet.com reports.
In 2007, the provincial government will focus on building and improving several highways including the Guangzhou-Shenzhen River-shore highway, Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Line highway and the Shaoguan-Ganzhou highway.
Tong Xing, the vice-governor was quoted by the Southern Metropolis Daily as saying the province has invested 46.2 billion yuan in infrastructure in 2006 and made remarkable progress.
