Inside the Pearl River Delta |
Guangdong Cultural CenterDali, Moore and Rodin are among the European and British masters whose works have appeared at the Guangdong Museum of Art in its eight short years of existence. Contemporary Chinese art by both well-established and emerging artists as well as traditional Chinese art are well represented here. Some exhibitions go on tour countrywide. With no permanent collection, the three-story venue has 12 exhibition halls, an interior garden and a sculpture garden. A training center offers art education through object-based learning. Don’t miss the Sancai Gallery, located at the east gate of the first floor. Coffee and Chinese tea are served at the 300-square-meter venue. Seal cutting and mounting and portrait-drawing services are also provided. Just across the plaza is the Xinghai Concert Hall, the home of classical music in Guangdong. The hall has state-of-the-art lighting and audio equipment, and regularly attracts top-class musicians and orchestras from China and abroad. Its 1,500-seat symphony hall is the largest in China with natural acoustics. Guangdong Cultural Center 广东文化中心 Guangzhou:
