Inside the Pearl River Delta |
Three of the bestGuangzhou has a number of excellent golf courses within an hour’s drive from the city center. But for convenience, you cannot beat Luhu Golf Club, at the foot of Baiyun Mountain in the heart of the city. The 18-hole club (with nine holes for night golf) has long been a mainstay of the city’s golfing community, and it also has a comfortable country club for families to enjoy a leisurely afternoon. Out east in Zengcheng is the superb Sino Golf and Country Club, a favorite among the expatriate community in Guangzhou. Jointly designed by Canadian Richard Davidson and Japan’s Muta Yasumori, it is an interesting combination of Eastern and Western styles. Down south in Panyu, at the foot of Lianhua Mountain, is the well-established Lotus Hill Golf Club, popular among Hong Kong visitors. The course has followed the natural terrain carefully, using existing rocks, bushes, and the lake as hazards.
